On Friday 20th September we held our annual golf day, which means I was fortunate enough to get out of the office and into the fresh air, for 18 holes of Ambrose at Virginia Golf Club. Sunshine and beautiful spring weather made for fantastic conditions on the course and a great day.
After an early registration we started with a buffet breakfast in the clubhouse, then at the Tee by 7:30am ready for a shotgun start. Play wrapped up around 12:30pm followed by lunch and presentations.
The lowest score of the day was shot by Matthew Hough, Tim Fernando, Steve Headrick & Sean Moroney. Matthew and Tim were representing MJTD Pty Ltd and Steve and Sean are from Boral Concrete.
Peter Murphy from KPM Building Solutions took out longest drive.
Tim Fernando was nearest the pin on the 12th hole par 3, whilst Tim Facoory from Versace Timbers was nearest the pin from the approach shot on the 17th hole.
While I can’t speak for everyone, I certainly enjoyed myself. It was good to catch up with many of our members and finally meet some of our suppliers that I’d spoken with on the phone. In this age of instant communication taking the time to build solid business relationships is often overlooked. Yes the golf was fun, but the true value of the day was spending time with our members & suppliers and getting some perspective on their business needs. Encouraging this type of supportive environment is our primary reason for hosting such a day in the first place, so I hope our members and suppliers got as much value out of it as I did.
We would like to sincerely thank all who attended. Without your support such a day wouldn’t be possible. Special thanks are in order to all of our suppliers who sponsored the event:
